About
"Autism and Sexual Abuse" is a short yet comprehensive, self-paced program designed for counsellors, mental health professionals, and support workers seeking to deepen their understanding of the unique challenges faced by autistic individuals in the context of sexual abuse. Separated into 7 bitesized parts of between 5 and 20 minutes, this course provides an essential exploration of the intersection between autism and sexual trauma, equipping participants with fundamental knowledge and skills necessary to offer sensitive, effective, and person-centred support. Through a blend of evidence-based theory, real-world case studies, and practical strategies, you will learn to recognise and understand the unique experiences of autistic clients who experience sexual abuse, the relevance of their neurodivergence and how you, as a professional, can help develop a neuro-affirming and trauma-informed approach when working with them. By the end of this course, you will be empowered to advocate for and support autistic survivors of sexual abuse with greater confidence and consider how you can make adjustments and accommodations to your practice to ensure that your practice aligns with the highest ethical and professional standards. Join us to enhance your expertise and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most. #autism #sexualabuse #counsellingandpsychotherapy #helpingprofessions #breakthesilence
