Advance Your Career with Our Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Clinical Supervision

Are you a professional counsellor or psychotherapist looking to deepen your expertise, expand your career opportunities, and provide ethical, effective supervision? Our Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Clinical Supervision is designed to support your growth, offering a rich blend of theory and practice alongside experienced clinical supervisors and peers.
This course has received Advanced Specialist Training Recognition by the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), highlighting its exceptional quality and relevance for practitioners in the field.
The classes will be held in Blackburn and facilitated by Samantha Crapnell and Claire Hasting, both practising clinical supervisors with extensive experience. They bring their lived experiences and professional insight into the learning environment, ensuring participants benefit from their practical expertise and relational approach to teaching.
We aim this course at professional counsellors and psychotherapists working in private, public, or voluntary sectors who are eager to refine their supervision skills, explore unconscious processes, and develop the innate qualities needed to thrive in this field. Combining theoretical understanding with experiential learning, it provides a robust framework for becoming an ethical and effective clinical supervision practitioner. Participants will gain the skills and confidence to collaborate with counsellors, psychotherapists, and other helping professionals across a variety of settings.
Starting on 10th May 2025, we will be providing a structured and flexible learning experience. It will include small cohort group classes held one day a month over a 12-month period, with an additional two CPD days to deepen knowledge and practice. Throughout the course, participants will have the opportunity to gather practice hours, enabling them to gain hands-on experience in addressing diverse settings, scenarios, and ethical dilemmas.
On completion of this programme, you will be qualified to work as a Clinical Supervisor in both individual and group settings. This practical and experiential course is designed to recognise and nurture the inherent qualities needed to encourage skills development, professional discipline, self-awareness, and theoretical understanding. It also offers participants the opportunity to examine two theoretical models of supervision, understand core competencies, and explore how these apply within clinical practice. Additionally, participants will gain insights into unconscious processes and psychological dynamics, engage with early and current research material, and critically analyse their own supervisory practice in a safe and supportive environment.
We are seeing that our previous graduates are currently providing regular clinical supervision across Lancashire, Manchester, Cumbria, Merseyside, and the South East. They support hundreds of professionals, including counsellors, psychotherapists, trainee therapists, health and wellbeing practitioners, teachers, head teachers, pastoral staff, and managers in the helping professions. Many participants describe the course as personally and professionally transformative and they say that they appreciate the relational and supportive approach that underpins their learning experience.
If you are ready to expand on your professional knowledge, the Advanced Diploma in Clinical Supervision offers a unique opportunity to develop your skills and confidence in this essential area of practice. Join us in Blackburn and become part of a growing community of professionals making a difference in the lives of others.
