We are delighted to share that Training for Counsellors has been named Counselling Training Provider of the Year 2025/26 in the North of England Prestige Awards. This award means the world to us. It’s a wonderful recognition of the passion, care and belief that has shaped our journey from day one.

 

When we opened our doors in 2023, we had a simple but powerful vision: to create counselling training that was collaborative, experiential, accessible and truly transformative. To be recognised for that vision so early on in our journey, and by such a respected awards body, feels nothing short of incredible.

 

The Prestige Awards celebrate businesses and individuals who are making a real and lasting difference in their community. Each nomination is reviewed with care, considering publicly sourced information including reviews, testimonials, values, branding, website content and social media presence, along with other materials submitted during the application.

 

When we were invited to apply, we felt deeply honoured to be considered alongside so many inspiring organisations. Finding out that we had made the top five was an incredible moment for the whole team, a genuine cause for celebration and pride. It was amazing to know that our values, approach and commitment were being recognised.

 

Then to discover that we had won, was a truly unforgettable moment that filled us with gratitude, joy and an even stronger sense of purpose. As a relatively new provider, being recognised in this way is a huge achievement and a reflection of how far we have come.

 

Our owner, Samantha Crapnell, describes the moment she heard the news “I felt emotional, proud, honoured and completely taken aback. To know that our work, our ethos, our passion had stood out among so many exceptional providers, was overwhelming, yet reassuring to know that what we’re doing really is making a difference in the counselling community.”

 

Attending the awards ceremony at the Village Hotel Leeds North, was our very own Sam, Linsey, Zara and Zoe. Reflecting on the experience, Sam says, “Holding that award, I felt the warmth and support of everyone who’s been part of this journey. I am proud of our facilitators, assessors, the people working tirelessly behind the scenes, and grateful for every single dedicated practitioner and organisation who’s joined our courses and CPD sessions.” 

 

In an interview with Prestige Awards, Sam and Linsey reflect how lovely it was to share moments of celebrations so far and the hopes for what is coming up in the future. “This wasn’t just my moment; it was ours. This award belongs to our entire community, to everyone who believes in us and what we do.” 

 

Training for Counsellors has always been built on connection, courage, curiosity and a shared commitment to making counselling training meaningful and accessible. From our courses, our CPD and online learning opportunities and our Counselling Community Meet Ups, we’ve poured our hearts into creating training and learning opportunities that truly inform and transform practice.

 

“None of this would have been possible without the dedication and heart of our team. I’m so proud to work alongside such talented, wholehearted people, and to have witnessed the growth and development of so many participants who have joined our courses. I can’t wait to see what 2026 brings. We have so much planned, and this award has given us even more energy and excitement for the future,” says Sam.
